Ingredients
• 2 (6 ounce) packages strawberry flavored gelatin
• 4 cups water (divided)
• 1 cup frozen strawberries, thawed
• 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Instructions
- Start by bringing 2 cups of water to a boil.
- In a large bowl, combine the strawberry gelatin with the boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. You’ll know it’s ready when no granules remain at the bottom of the bowl.
- Add 2 cups of cold water and stir well. Refrigerate the mixture until it begins to thicken but isn’t completely set – this is key for the perfect texture.
- When the gelatin has reached a partially set state (it should be the consistency of egg whites), fold in the thawed strawberries and whipped topping. Gentle folding is important here to maintain the fluff’s airy texture.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and refrigerate until fully set, about 2-3 hours.
Notes
- For perfect texture, don’t let the gelatin set completely before adding the other ingredients
- Gently fold in the whipped topping to keep the dessert light and fluffy
- Pat your thawed strawberries dry to prevent excess liquid from affecting the texture
- For extra flair, reserve a few strawberry pieces and whipped topping for garnish
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
