For the dip:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade)
For the apple topping:
- 2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced small
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
For serving:
- Graham crackers
- Vanilla wafers
- Cinnamon sugar pita chips
- Apple slices
Instructions
Make the dip base:
- Beat cream cheese until smooth and fluffy
- Add both sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg – mix well
- Gently fold in whipped topping until combined
- Refrigerate while preparing apples
Cook the apples:
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat
- Add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon
- Cook 5-7 minutes until apples are tender but still hold their shape
- Stir in lemon juice and let cool completely
Assemble:
- Spread cream cheese mixture in serving bowl
- Top with cooled apple mixture
- Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving
Notes
- Make sure cream cheese is fully softened for smooth mixing
- Don’t skip cooling the apples – hot apples will melt the dip
- This keeps well covered in the fridge for 2-3 days
- For extra richness, add 2 tbsp caramel sauce to the cream cheese mixture
- Sprinkle chopped pecans or crushed graham crackers on top for crunch
Serves 8-10 people. Takes about 20 minutes to make, plus chilling time.
